This indeed was a very fine tasting on Saturday afternoon at Cleveland Park Wine & Spirits on Saturday afternoon, from 1-4PM with our customers in Cleveland Park as owner and winemaker Leo Hillinger tasted his family's fine wines with our customers. We sold a whole lot. Retired Ambassador to the American Embassy, Ed Marks was on hand to taste with Leo making it all the more special for us. Ed is a great and loyal customer, has been now for more than twenty years. Cheers. Enjoy these photos I post here today, Friday, May 1st, 2014  for the very first time. I had to scan them first just now as I took them when I was not yet using a digital camera. I like them, crystal-clear, some of my best. This will also be special this Friday night, May 1st, 2015  from 1-5PM, no charge, and TOMORROW afternoon, Saturday, May 2nd, 2015  we have Andrea Fossi coming to taste his FABulous Italian wines from Utscany and Puglia, Italy from 2-6PM. Love both of your smiles as we enjoyed the end of our meal at the Capitol Grill in Tyson's Corner in mid 1990's, definitely after our trip to Austria in 1994 with Klaus Wittauer that imports these fine wines from Toni and Martin, vineyards that we visited there on our glorious trip. Thank you for that Klaus.

Our First Meal In Austria With Leo Hillinger, Klaus Wittauer and Danielle In Burgenland, In May 2004 : It Was Simple, Truly Grand : Prost!

This was an extraordinary start for our trip to Austria back in May of 2004. Here we are the guests of Leo Hillinger, Klaus Wittauer and Danielle, and it was truly special and wonderful and gave us a real sense of the flavorful and hearty fare that Austria and Germany are famous for making and serving with their wines, in this case the excellent wines of Leo and his family of LEO HILLINGER, Burgenland. This was fun, John Cavanagh was in the store shopping and he was able to sample what Klaus Wittauer brought with Toni Bauer of his own ANTON BAUER Austrian wines from Gmork, Austria, not that far from Vienna and next to the Wachau region, or part of it?  Anyway, I have been there visiting Toni in 2004 with Klaus and a small group of retailers from Whole Foods, and me from Cleveland Park Wine and Spirits, with the Select Virginia Wine Imporst group there, and several restaurants represented, too , like the Inn At Little Washington.
